The
Olympic Hotel, a three star hotel built during
China's bid for the 1990 Olympics, is located
opposite the Beijing library in close proximity
to the Purple Bamboo Park. Not the most impressive
of China's hotels, the Olympic is a large blue
tiled building about 8km from the city center,
in the usual traffic about 30 minutes from Tian'anmen.
There
are 336 rooms and suites here equipped with air-conditioning,
satellite TV, IDD telephone and in room safety
box.

business center provides typing, EMS and internet
access for a price. For those in need of contacting
home there is an internet cafe just south down
the road. For entertainment and recreation the
hotel has as small night club, a sauna, bowling
and indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
